I consider myself to be an audiophile. I've worked as an A/V engineer on and off for the last ten years, calibrating surround systems, testing speakers and amps and headphones, etc.
I bought this headset at Best Buy for $49.99 last week. Let me tell you, I spend about 12 hours a day in headphones, and these are by far the most comfortable headphones I've ever used. They fit snugly without crushing my ears and I can wear them with my glasses on and have no discomfort there. Regarding tightness, I have quite a large head, and the adjustability of the headset is more than accommodating.
The cords are very slick, and the volume adjuster feels very well constructed.
Also, I've found that the microphone is very sensitive, but well balanced. It is able to pick up a very wide range of frequencies and tones. I have not yet encountered any kind of clipping.

This headset rivals more expensive models. The sound quality is excellent and the bass response is great. The fold-up mic is very handy because not only does it fold up out of the way it folds into the frame totally out of sight. You can wear this headset for hours and hours without any fatigue or soreness. It's light so you don't even know it's there. It has excellent padding. If I were look for a negative with this product I couldn't find one!

I bought this headset with the primary need for keeping the neighbors quiet at night. I often watch a tv series on my computer or play with my PS3. I have a Creative Inspire 5.1 speakers on my computer, but since I have a PS3 I don`t play on the computer any longer lol!. Nevertheless I haven`t bought a home theater yet and thought of a good set of headphones for my video game console and for my computer.
When I saw this one and read the specifications I noticed that they would work perfect for me. Nonetheless, when I got them the usb functionality on my PS3 could not hear ingame sound at all... although on the computer was amazing!, the PC detects them and with no drivers installed on Windows 7!
However, the PS3 issue was a problem for me. Since, I bought them for both purposes... I found a console sound converter from logitech that inputs RCA connectors (Female) and outputs three 3.5mm jacks 5.1 Game Console Adapter Convert Rca Plugs To A Single 1/8, this was the perfect solution for my problem! Now I can use both, the headsets and my creative speakers with my PS3 and 5.1 activated on both sound sets!
The best of all is that the headsets sound is cristal clear and the surround sound its breathtaking! You would not beleave how this is possible until you use this headset.

When I was thinking of buying a gaming headset, Plantronics was not my first thought. I thought first of Logitech and then Creative to pair the headphones with my sound card.
I saw this headset in a review roundup for gaming headphones. I wanted to replace an older headset I had that was over the ears. They are comfortable for an hour or so, but they hurt after a long gaming session. They were under $30, so I wasn't out much.
With this headset, I can run Ventrilo, Winamp and a game and be able to hear each clearly. It is odd at first to hear someone talk in surround sound. You have to look to see where the sound is coming from.
I will say that they take some time to break in and conform to your head. The mic works very well and fold up into the headphones. The earpieces are soft and won't hurt after a few hours.
The best part is using this headset in USB. I hate getting behind my computer to plug in the set. I can plug into a front USB outlet on my PC, or unplug and use it on my Macbook.
You also have volume controls in your hand and can mute the mic easily.
All in all, this is a high quality gaming headsets and look forward to the next model in this line. A great buy, especially as the price drops.

This headset is unbelievably amazing!!! Combined with the price Amazon is selling it for is a really good deal. I just got today, and after using it for only about 2 hours, i can tell it is better than most headsets. The surround sound is surprisingly amazing! the bass is unbelievable, but if you listen to something too long your ears start to hurt. I would recommend this to anyone, and especially at this price!!!
