Very nice gamepad August 1, 2005 r (Seattle, WA) 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
I like this gamepad a lot. It's got a very solid feel. I'm using it with emulator games on my pc, like snes, n64, etc. Everything feels right on it, and installation was easy (just plugged it in). It feels very similar to a Playstation 2 controller (and similar control layout) but feels thicker, and the ergonomics are better (the surface material has a very nice texture and seems to fight hand sweating). Rumble feature works well if your game supports it. Looks slick too. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a good gamepad.
great gamepad January 15, 2005 Dennis D. (Oregon, United States) 31 out of 35 found this review helpful
This is my first ever gamepad for a PC and it sure beats using the keyboard (for gaming). This USB controller is the best on the market for PC gaming. It's very simliar to the PS2 controller. Fits very comfortably in my hands. Logitech did a fantastic job w/ it's ergonomics. Personally, I wish they would've added some color to it by using transparent "jewel" buttons instead of the black. Maybe even make the whole thing transparent (like some PS2/XBOX controllers). It has a steel blueish metallic finish. Great price point, I got mine for 23 & change. WIN98,2000,Me, & XP, Mac OS X (v10.2.3+).... no "rumble" feature w/ macs
Great Gamepad August 28, 2005 Jim (Pennsylvania United States) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I got this gamepad to replace the dual action pad because the dual action pad sucks becuase of the d-pad. The directional pad on this game pad is a million times better than the one on the dual action pad. I highly recommend this gamepad to any one who like to play sports games and or console emulation.
... Go Wireless Instead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! October 3, 2005 OverTheMoon (overthemoonreview@hotmail.com) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
The Rumblepad 2 is also available in WIRELESS format. Go see the reviews for the cordless version and make up your own mind. Same controller except you don't need the wire for about $5 more!
However the wireless version requires 2 AA batteries.
Logitech sure did it right with this one... October 31, 2004 Echo (Oregon, USA) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
Ok, first off, I'll admit that I've only had this pad for a few days now, so there hasn't really been a chance for anything to go wrong. But from what I've seen, this is one great pad. Everything is customizable, even with games that aren't made for use with gamepads. I don't know what the person who said it didn't work with Madden '05 is talking about. Even if your x/y axes ARE switched, the included software allows you to interchange the axes, so you can swap x/y back, or map it to mouse axes, or even assign a different function to each direction of the stick if you so choose. Plus you can adjust sensitivity, dead zone, and range on the sticks for maximum control in any game. So far I've tried it with Max Payne 1 and 2, Aliens vs. Predator 2 (none of which are really designed for gamepad use, with the possible exception of AVP2, which has joystick functions... and they're not even needed when you use the gamepad software), and old school Grand Theft Auto 1. With just a few minutes programming buttons to different game functions until I find the layout I like, it works beautifully with everything. I haven't had a chance to really test the force feedback, but the included tests feel very nice. Bottom line: Buy this controller. You won't be disappointed.
